Message from Mayor Steven M. Fulop
Welcome to the new and improved Jersey City Employment and Training Program (JCETP)!
In order to make Jersey City a first class city, we must have a robust jobs plan and it is a personal priority of mine to find every available job in Jersey City and match our residents to those opportunities. This will be realized with our new leadership and new vision at JCETP.
We believe investing in our families is an investment in our city and its future. We are building and broadening partnerships with our business community so that our entire city benefits from Jersey City’s growth and development.
Not only will we continue to have an office on Summit Avenue, but we are also establishing an office on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive at the “HUB”. We are also bolstering services including our jobs bank, job coaching, resume building, GED prep, apprenticeship programs, prisoner re-entry, and CDL and computer training. All 250,000 Jersey City residents should visit the JCETP, as it is a resource and tool for improving their future.
Steven M. Fulop
The Jersey City Employment and Training Program (JCETP), a non-profit agency, is mandated by The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) that was signed into law on August 8, 1998. JCETP has been servicing Jersey City residents for the last 28 years. Its motto has been “Helping Our Community to Work.”
JCETP continues its mission of helping our community to work through personal outreach services, workshops to prepare job seekers, intensive services for qualified customers, a variety of youth services to support both in-school youth needing summer employment & career guidance and out of school youth preparing to enter the workforce. JCETP staff works together with various social service agencies to assist customers securing employment. It has also been involved with servicing over 25,000 youth in Jersey City for over two decades.
