Jersey City Employment and Training Program (JCETP) Hosting Cocktail Reception for the Hudson TDL Training Program with Mayor Fulop and Goldman Sachs’ Charles Bouckaert

      The Hon. Mayor Steven M. Fulop, Mayor of Jersey City, New Jersey, and Charles   Bouckaert to speak at launch of new Transportation, Distribution and Logistics (TDL) initiative, which will increase access to entry and middle-skill jobs in the TDL sector. Transportation, distribution and logistics (TDL) are vital to the US economy and adapting the workforce to meet emerging TDL needs will be crucial for economic growth in New Jersey and nationally. Funded by a $3 million grant from the Walmart Foundation, the project will strengthen and expand training in Hudson County for careers in automotive repair and forklift maintenance and operations, logistics and warehouse management, AutoCAD and other occupations.   The grant is part of the Walmart Foundation’s $100 million commitment over five years to support programs that help increase the economic mobility for entry-level workers to advance their careers, in order to promote a stronger workforce.

What:             A Cocktail Reception for the Hudson TDL Training Program. The Hon. Steven M. Fulop, Mayor of Jersey City, New Jersey, will provide welcome remarks. The Keynote Speaker will be Charles Bouckaert, Managing Director in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division, providing his industry outlook on the TDL sector. Information will also be made available about the Hudson TDL Program, anew, free training program, developed by the Jersey City Employment and   Training Program, the Hudson County Workforce Investment Board, the Jersey City Economic Development Corporation in partnership with the Logistics Center at New Jersey City University (NJCU), which will assist in meeting the demandfor trained workers in warehouse management, logistics, and internet fulfillment.
